Meet
Dr. J. Tanner Anderson
For Dr. Anderson, the most rewarding aspect of orthodontics is helping people build confidence in the way they present themselves to the world. He believes that each individual is beautifully unique, and therefore requires more than a one-size-fits-all approach to care. He values conservative treatment planning with an emphasis on honesty, transparency, and trust. At Anderson Orthodontics, you’re guaranteed to receive the attention you deserve.
A native of the North Carolina foothills, Dr. Anderson earned his undergraduate degree at Duke University where he competed as a varsity high jumper on the men’s track and field team. He later graduated with Honors from UNC Chapel Hill, where he earned both his Doctor of Dental Surgery and Master of Science in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics degrees. His training encompasses everything from traditional braces to clear aligners and digital workflows, and he remains actively engaged in professional societies to ensure your care remains both up-to-date and evidence-based.
Outside the office, Dr. Anderson loves sports, hunting, fishing, music, and jiu jitsu. He and his wife, Dani, live just down the road in Clemmons, NC. They have two sons, Emmett and Ledger (who you’re likely to catch toddling around the office on any given day). Together they enjoy cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Meet
Dr. Jeff Rickabaugh
Dr. Jeff Rickabaugh founded the original practice, “Rickabaugh Orthodontics”, where he served families in Winston-Salem for 32 years. A respected name in both the local community and the broader orthodontic community at large, Dr. Rickabaugh has served the dental profession and the orthodontic specialty through leadership positions in many professional organizations throughout his career, including a three-year term as the Speaker of the House of Delegates of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO). He acts as the program chair for the Dental Chapter of the American Institute of Parliamentarians, past president of both the Forsyth County Dental Society (FCDS) and the North Carolina Association of Orthodontists (NCAO), and served as the North Carolina director to the Southern Association of Orthodontists (SAO).
Dr. Rickabaugh has recently entered retirement and graciously handed his practice down to Dr. Anderson, but you may still catch him around the office from time to time. Dr. Rickabaugh enjoys watching baseball and fly fishing, upland bird hunting, and competing in field trials with his German Shorthaired Pointers, Butch and Waco.
